Ruben took his birthday celebrations to discover Old times - real old times- 08-08-09

Ruben became obviously 9 years old this year and it is enough reason to gather the neighbours and family members to taste nice cake (bought from the local bakery), apple pie (home made, Aty & Co) and drinks and fun chatting and enjoying the nice summer weather in our garden. I decided to cook pratha with dhal curry to have my neighbours to try my cooking for the first time. I still saw them walking around alive the next day! Thank God! Ha! Ha! The party ended up we tasted all my coffee liquor stocks (left overs from Christmas last year) and the last guest left around 2200 hrs.

Ruben invited only 2 friends from his school and he wanted to visit the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. Of course we travelled via the train and it is a good moment to open up the present he received from his 2 friends.

We arrived after almost 45 minutes of train ride in Leiden. We took lunch which we brought with us and walked to the museum. Along the way we saw the Leiden city attractions like windmill overlooking the canal and the fountain. It was quite informative hours we walked through the Egytian permanent exhibition and learned how they mummified dead bodies and preservation techniques and traditions.

We passed by shortly the Romanian times......
'
Took a break at Viking tents.
Obviously trying out the outfits of the Vikings and the boat.
When arrived at the last drop off it was time for dinner. The other family too wanted to eat at the beach on our famous Jeroen restaurant and stayed till the sunset before calling it a day.
